its so much better sleeping before 2. now with more things happening in my life im gonna try aiming for before 1 instead! tough challenge.
definitely worth doing! i find staying up past 2 is ok once or twice a week as long as its balanced

Well my kids started school, I started school and so I need to get to bed earlier! I am NOT a morning person so I need to have my sleep in order to even think of getting up before 8 am. Well since I take the kids to school now and they start at 7:45 and 8:45 I have to get them up and ready (as well as myself!) pretty early—for me anyway! So I have been making myself go to bed BEFORE midnight and some nights as early as 10:30! It’s been going pretty well and although I feel like falling asleep around noon most days, it is nice to be up and at ‘em and doing things when I would have previously been snoozing! I wish I were naturally a morning person. SIGH.
I did this by making an effort not to watch jay leno, and by not watching any law and order that starts after 10. Plus, i sleep under an east-facing window, so the sun shines in my face by 7 every morning. It really helps to reset the body clock.
Easier said than done. Though on most days I get up between 5 and 7AM, I can usually get to sleep around 1AM.
My 2 hour public transit commute is now mostly “nap time.”
With school and work now, 8 hours is vital to a happy me! So just resist the urge! Turn off the TV… stop viewing those webpages! Get off of 43 things and just go to sleep before 2AM!

Since I got back from NY a couple weeks ago, I’ve been having the worst time sleeping. A co-worker said that it’s because I was excited about the trip, but the trip has been over for nearly a month or so. I hate waking up tired you know? A couple of other things have have made this really hard. For the last 5 years I think The Simpsons would run at 11PM here in Los Angeles, and now it changed from 11PM to 11:30PM. By the time it’s over it’s 12AM and I’m still awake.
I need to sleep early!!!
I can’t get to sleep early anymore! I need to sleep early so I can get to work early, so I don’t have to stay at work so late! Sheesh!
