Dom Casmurro
My tattoo is the name of one of the characters of Machado de Assis’ book Dom Casmurro. The character is Capitolina, who’s nickname is “Capitu”. She is the great love of the narrator. Is beautifullly described as owner of “undertow eyes, oblique, gypsy look”. The tattoo is on my left side, on my ribs. It is written “Capitu” with typewriter letters. It’s pretty cute and means a lot to me.

my first lit tattoo will pay homage to my favorite book. going to something involving the design from the first edition that I read.
I think it might be cool to get it to look like a book, even. might be dumb? I’d have to see it sketched out.

I think after the wedding, Taylor and I are going to use some gift dollars to get some tattoos. He knows what he wants for sure, I still have to decide on 1 of 3 potentials. Will probably get a tomato, though.

I got my first tattoo a little over 5 years ago. I really love her and can’t imagine my skin without her. But I’ve never been able to decide on another. I thought I might like to get an Orwell tattoo, but have never been able to decide. The obvious would be an aspidistra plant with wings. Also thought of a gonzo tat, a tomato, and a bald sheep wearing a wool sweater is perennial favorite. I just don’t know.
