Mallory is ah-chargin' her lazeeer!
I was in an orchestra class for five years, but couldn’t be in it this year because I had too many other classes to take. I still have my violin and all,it’s just I haven’t been playing it regularly. I’m going to ask my friend if I can get all my sheet music copies back so I can re-master them.

The old lady I clean for wants a 2nd violinist for her quartet! So now, she is copying me music all the time, and soon, soon, I will find the time to start practicing it!

I’ve been invited to play with my friend’s band for his birthday. About a month after I met him he really got his music back in gear and I have neglected being a part of it because work took over on my end. These days I’ve been talking to my violin more than anyone else really, and think that this is very good timing all in all.

I’ve played the violin for over 20 years, but lately I have hardly picked it up. I played a lot with my ex’s band, and since we broke up I have totally neglected practicing. It’s time to start playing again. I miss it terribly but don’t have a lot of time or opportunity but want to change that.
Oh wow I am so proactive today, I put an ad on craigslist ‘violinist seeking…’ and actually got a response. for someone who is the music director for a carnival band…how cool would that be?!!

I played for 8 years because my mom wanted me to. She is a classical musician and I think that she harbored dreams of me becoming famous. I stopped playing 6 years ago because I was only playing to please her. Angry that I decided not to follow her wishes, she absconded my violin and told me that she sold it.
Last month I found it hidden in her house. When pressed about the mysterious re-appearence, she seemed nonchalant and said that nobody would buy it.
So I decided to start playing again, this time for myself. Since I was trained classically, I’m starting with some pieces that I am familiar with- some Mozart and Handel. But recently I found a book of Scottish music and have been trying to teach myself to play the fiddle. Any suggestions about fun pieces etc.?

It’s weird. During my semester in Kyoto, I COULDN”T WAIT! to get back home and play my violin again. (It was quite weird and unnerving for me to stay away from the instrument for a whole 4 months..) Now that I’m back, and see the thing I’ve been struggling(?) with for the past 11 years… I don’t know. I don’t really feel like playing it that much anymore ^^;; Weird, huh? I really should practice it a bit more. UNFORTUNATELY, I cut my left index finger quite deeply yesterday with this blasted “katta” knife—;... Meh. It’ll heal, and I’ll play again soon. (IF i feel like it)
