good idea to pool this goal together. (though i wasn’t part of any other fair trade group!)
i try to buy fair trade, and i even live in a town working towards being declared a ‘Fair Trade Town’
(ttp://www.fairtrade.org.uk/get_involved_fairtrade_towns.htm).
My only problem is that i find it really hard to buy Organic AND Fairtrade in the same product. i care very much about this, as producing organic milk, bread, meat and tea mean huge areas of the planet are chemical free.
What i’d REALLY like to buy is fair-tradeo-organic soya protein, tea and sugar (crops with huge land & people impact), as then i would be contributing to personal and environmental benefit and sustainability.

There is more. Just google Fair Trade and you can find everything you need to know; Where you can buy your FT products, what it does to help in this world, and how you can (if you want to) affect your closest environment to improve their Fair Trade awareness! Be the change.

I have searched for Fair Trade goals on 43 things and found that they are quite spred with only 16 people at top and more often only one person in a goal similar to so many others. So I think, why don’t we all unite in one big Fair Trade group where we can benefit from many experiences and ideas? And so I created this group, because the name of it defines the purpose which is not only to support Fair Trade or think about it or buy Fair Trade products sometimes, it is about all those things, but also to talk about it out loud so that other and more people can become aware and contribute to the World’s fine development too!
I invite you all to join, to share in one place our different or much alike attempts to achieve the one and same goal -Fair Trade.
As written previously: Fair Trade is one of the three major contributions toward ending extreme poverty in developing countries (along with dropping third world countries debt and giving more aid to the poorest).
Buying Fair Trade products as often as we can is a great way to contribute directly as well as send a message of intolerance against slavery, child abuse and poverty (to companies for one but also to friends and family, who might get involved too!).
I only just discovered this recently but so far at least my tea is Fair Trade (and ecological), I have found one clothes shop that sell only Fair Trade clothes and I have also signed up for and been accepted to study a course in Fair Trade this fall.
I am so excited! I really do wish (and work) for things to be better in the poorer parts of the world SOON. Yes, I am an optimist :)
My plans for nearest future:
Check out my local food stores for their Fair Trade selection, and suggest to managers that they keep them all in one place -to make it easier for interested customers finding the FT products.
Arrange for Christmas/Valentines campaignes near shopping centres to give information and tips on where to find and which products are Fair Trade -to support change of people’s ordinary choices.
