amanda9989 is logging in for the first time in four years!
Four years since I set this goal… It’s still something Ihave to think about every single day, but the good news is that I do follow the principle and have maintained my weight this way for years. I can always tell when I’m not being mindful because the scale creeps upward. I start paying more attention, and it goes back down. Funny how overeating and weight go hand in hand… :) I’m marking this one done, because I know that even though food will always be an issue for me and this will never be something I do automatically, it is a principle I will continue following because it’s so, so worth it.

lebomatseke 50 000 words doesn't sound difficult until...
I’m being very bad right now. I won’t even tell you what I’ve eaten. The point that I wanted to also put on the table is that the things you do put into your mouth should be healthy and stuff. I have a looong way to go though.

Being mindful
I think this ties in with my goal of being mindful and living in the present moment. I know it will take much practice, but worth the effort in the long run. It seems like a simplistic and real-life way of achieving a healthy weight; less obsessive and stressful than following a pre-determined plan for eating.

In no means do I have to worry about my weight, but I feel disgusting if I eat more than I am hungry for (and I do this often) Whether it be snacks or dessert, I just need to be more careful.

This really works but is definitely something you must consciously think about every single day. I have lost about 8-10 pounds! I feel so much more energetic and am a size smaller. All good stuff and really, really worth it. Since you eat when you feel hungry you never feel like you are on a diet! Also, if you happen to overeat (especially at breakfast or lunch) you can usually rebalance your day by eating very little for dinner or skipping it altogether since you aren’t hungry.

I have been doing SO well with this. Now, whenever I don’t do it my self-confidence goes down whereas before I never even let myself get hungry. Now I love the feeling of eating when my stomach is totally empty! I’ll keep this up for a couple more weeks and then mark it done. Hopefully, by the time school starts(2 weeks) I will have it mastered.

This is hard.

It’s all about listening to your body and being totally aware of how it feels. It’s about getting over that constant need to consume that so many people have and looking at food as nourishment and pleasure.
