I left chicago and headed to florda or some costal city where I planed to get a boat and live on it. “But you dont know how to sail” “theyre way to expensive” “Your F*cking crazy Says my famley” Now im in st. petersburg liveing on a sail boat, _ Its not easy and getting it is a lotta work, I took mine From a junk yard to a house in 6 mo. But Im free, and thats all that really maters to me I guess.
I am now in my third year of living aboard WindChime.Living aboard a sailboat has been a dream as far back as I can remember.
I am lucky to live in San Diego, California and can take off from work at my own pace. I try to spend as much time sailing and SCUBA diving as I can. During the summer months it’s “Catalina Island here I come” This October I hope to make the Channel Islands and in November it’s Mexico, and the Sea of Cortez….ask me a question and I try to help. I’ve been sailing for 20+ years and WindCime is my 11th boat.
I have been living aboard for 4 years. Bought the boat, a Westsail 32, Feb 2004 in the FL Keys. We moved on the boat and lived a month in Marathon then moved to Key West. July-August we sail up yo Philadelphia to see friends and family. Ended up buying a 66’ Bruce Roberts HM. We’re now selling the HM and I’m going to move back aboard the Westsail, then am moving back to Key West.
