My room’s been fairly clean lately. If I continue to keep it clean every day between now and June 18, my birthday, I will mark this as done.
I’ve decided that I will clean random debris like dust and crumbs on a weekly basis.
Vaguely related: I cut down on the time it takes me to put away laundry by about a minute by positioning myself better. 1 week ago

Well, I’ve been cleaning on a weekly basis, so that parts done. Problem is, the room’s not staying clean. I’ll have to figure out a way to convince myself to fix that. 1 month ago

Well, my room is clean now, and has been for the last few days! My downfall is usually the laundry piling up, just throwing them floor instead of into the hamper, and dishes. I really shouldn’t eat in my room if I want to keep it clean though. 3 months ago

If anyone’s reading this, I have an idea. At least two unspecified times during the week, we ask each other for a picture of a random area of the room. The other person sends the picture only. If that part of the room is a mess, no mitigating commentary allowed. No matter the excuses, you failed to keep that part of the room clean. This will help us keep the room clean, because we know that at any moment it may be inspected. Interested? 6 months ago

Do not intrinsically value cleanliness, but it will build discipline. 8 months ago

I moved into an apartment. So I need to change this goal, doh! But I think that my room will become clean through attrition. I’ll begin throwing stuff out because I won’t need it and my room really will need to be cleaned. 15 months ago

While I do occasionally slip, so far I’m working on some very clean habits. Before bed I’ve taken to sleeping my floor (which is also so I’m not walking on sand constantly, since shoes track in a lot), and also putting things away/throwing them out before bed. I put out the things I need in the morning, and my clothes for the next day, which may seem childish but it keeps me organized. Making my bed every day seems to also help me feel clean and motivated, because it makes my tiny dorm room look larger when it’s neat. While I don’t consider myself to be someone who keeps my room clean constantly yet, I hope I can keep it up so I can use that distinction. 16 months ago

I moved away and never had the chance to really clean out my room. Only sort of. I really should do that when I get back.
Now I have an apartment to keep clean. T_T 18 months ago
