How I did it: I decided that I wanted to do it, and I have naturally dark, dark brown hair. I dyed it first at home, but it turned an orange color and wouldn't go lighter. From here I went to a salon I trusted to get it the rest of the way blonde about two days later, that way I not only saved money at the salon by doing the majority of the dying at home but I also saved time sitting in the salon chair. Lessons & tips: Do most of it at home, but not too much. This will make it so that you don't waste money in a salon, and by not leaving the dye on for WAYYY too long you won't fry your hair. I went to the salon two days after dying my hair from almost black to light orange, where my hairdresser balanced the color to an ash blonde. My hair was never fried, and was back to it's normal feel in a week. Resources: I tried many hair dyes, but with hair as dark as mine for the initial dying it didn't really matter, none would get it to the lightness I wanted without professional help. At least, not without the risk of my hair falling out. My hairdresser is a friend of mine, and she said this is the smartest way to do it.

How I did it: Me and my friend both have really dark hair and decided to do it together. We got L'Oreal bleach and put it in for a while, it ended up terrible. It was supposed to wash out in 28 washes and 8 months on its still there

I have naturally medium brown hair, but ever since last February/March, I’ve been getting it highlighted. It’s now pretty blonde, but there’s still a lot of brown undertones and lowlights. All I want is a pretty all over blonde color, similar to Allison Harvard’s transformation in ANTM cycle 12, or Cate Blanchett’s hair. Last time I went to my hairdresser, I brought in a picture of Cate Blanchett and said I wanted my hair like that…and nothing came of it. Guess I’m just gonna have to keep trying.

I have dark blonde hair already, which lightens considerably in the sun. But since moving to england, my hair rarely sees the sun. so now I am committed to to lightening my hair to the same colour it was when i was ten. I’m scandinavian, and my whole family hair very light blonde hair. I want a pretty, natural, blonde like kirsten dunst’s in wimbledon.

Kay, I totally have an appointment booked for this coming wednesday, and no sooner, I’m starting to hate my hair. It’s too long and my roots are now very noticable. I think that I’m the only one that notices though
