I wan to learn to speak Brazilian Portuguese because I want omove to Brazil after college and my boyfriend’s family lives in Brazil and are bilingual and so I want to be also.
i’m brazilian, and i only know a little bit of portuguese…i want to be able to understand exactly what the fadistas are saying, and to have that exotic twist to my persona!
I have been given an amazing opportunity this coming summer, the summer of 2008, I will be taking a job in Portugal to get a practical experience in the Culinary field.
But I have a problem, I don’t speak Portuguese. “Eegasp, how will you survive!” Well here is my New Years Resolution, I am going to spend an hour each night learning Portuguese, I have found a site with “Podcasts” grammar lessons, exercises, and reading comprehension. On top of that, I have purchased a English to Portuguese dictionary, and a few Portuguese Text Books.
Now, this can only get me so far if I don’t know how to go about this. I have a very short time to learn, can you give me any tips?
If someone needs help with this, I’m currently staying in Portugal for a year, learning Portuguese… slowly.
I just spent a year in Brazil, and I learned that portuguese is one of the most beautiful languages in the world!
I did a post with Craigslist too. I’m chatting with a native from Rio, but she’s overloading me with phrases I don’t even know. I just started, as a matter of fact, my 2nd class is tomorrow night. I love the language but its hard to try to keep up…
I’ve purchased the Brazilian Portuguese I set and so far I’m on CD #5 of 16. It’s going smoothly. I like all the repetition because I find myself forgetting words or phrases. I’m on my way…
