Shellbelle34 is ready for change

Haven't stopped completely 2 years ago

I’ve ended my Us Weekly subscription. I still look at my 2 websites, but not nearly as often. I feel like I have fulfilled this goal and I am wasting much less time on it.

Reading less 3 years ago

I’m down to PerezHilton.com and People online and my Us Weekly in the mail and People when I hit Barnes n Noble. Much better.

not even in the line up at the grocery store! 3 years ago

Horrible, mind numbing, soul sucking gossip. I would hate to have my journey through life splattered across the pages of a tabloid. I will not take pleasure in someone else’s pain.

What's wrong with me? 3 years ago

I’m addicted! Help!

I just can't help myself 3 years ago

This is my addiction. I just love seeing how the other half lives. If you want to know something about pop culture, ask me. I know it. It just takes up time and seems unimportant. It’s my escape, but I need to make it less of one.

I hate myself every time I buy one, but when I see the headline “Best and Worst Dressed!” and then see those outlandish pictures on the cover, I can’t stop my compulsion! As I read these wretched stories I feel so bad for these poor people, yet my desire to read the latest gossip overcomes my animosity towards these horrible reporters and papparazzi (spelling be damned!)

In particular, I read one article about how Kevin Federline apparently doesn’t approve of Brittney’s pregnant body (“yet Heidie Klum is pregnant and gorgeous,” as Star reports)... and it just makes me want to puke!

Yet… I can’t seem to resist. I know I’m putting money in these peoples’ pockets, yet I still buy.

I should never buy one again. It’s just mindless entertainment, certainly there’s something more worthwhile I could be doing with my time…
