I started to go to a climbing gym around a year ago. I really like it and i want to become better at it. The bummer is that i haven’t been able to climb anything harder than a 6(rarely)/6- so far while the guys i’ve started out with are really making progress with their skills.
My lack of progress is mostly due to the fact that i weight around 15 kilograms to much. Overhanging walls are really killing me. The second point might be my less than perfect body control (i’ve never been a sports person).
So i guess i have to bite the bullet and lose some weight before my frustration with my lack of progress destroys the fun of it.

The activity centre near me was fully booked for June, couldn’t make July’s ‘taster session’ either because I’m doing something else that day but I am booked in for August so will let you know how I get on…

I haven’t gone recently, but I figure… this is something I’ve done before, so I don’t need to put it on my list, even if I do want to do it again… and I definitely do!

I’m 17 now. It’s fun, you get to meet new people, and you get to stay fit/healthy! It might seem scary at first and you most probably will find it hard and get frustrated…but like every other sport, it takes practice :]

Love doing this in a gym, at deisgnated rock climbing areas and free climbing where there are cliffs that aren´t too dangerous. Good thing I´m not afraid of heights eh?

This goal is also just taking up space as long as it is winter-time. On to more achievable things. I DO still want to do this though. Some day.

Took up sport climbing during the hols, the instructors were friendly and great. Been doing only indoor climbing so far- it’s a cool sport that trains up your mind and every part of your body. Great activity to do with like-minded friends

Good whole body training… You’ll feel pain like hell after the 1st time.

I’ve done a (very) little bit of indoor climbing, but I’m wondering – how much climbing should I do before I try it for “real”? And how do I do this – through the indoor place? Other climbers?
Thanks!

Rockclimbing has always been my passion, train 2-3 times a week and try to climb outside once every few months..
BUT IT’S ALWAYS NOT ENOUGH! :-)
Love to hear from others…
