I’ve decided that in order for this to be an effective tool some house cleaning is needed. Deleting all goals that do not have a clear definiting end result. Keeping commitments is an ongoing processs (no forseeable end in site).

its something I still need to work on. Even though most of the time (ok all of the time) I do as a damn well please. I don’t barter with myself often let along make promises.
I made myself a promise that if I lose another 20 pounds, I get to take a trip.

..though some days this is hard to do. The key to this is listening to that little voice in your heart. If it feels wrong, don’t do it. If it feels right, and no matter how long and how hard it will get, work on it. It’ll be a matter of time before you reap what you sow. Promises are like that.. either the ones made to others or to yourself, eventually it all boils down to things like integrity, honour and self-worth.

striking a balance between..
finding fulfillment in the company of others vs. being okay in my own company.

I promise to try my best to strike a balance between..
- doing the things I want to do and those I need to get done
- relaxing to revive my spirits while staying focused on the tasks ahead
- having fun being around people and enjoying my own company
And I promise come Sunday evening, I will not berate myself for the things I didn’t do and welcome the week ahead with a brand new positively-charged outlook.

I had 14 goals related to spiritual growth. I wrote them down in my journal about a month ago. I was hoping to fulfill them all withina month’s time. Well the time has come to reassess this. I managed to fulfill 7 out of the 14 goals I outlined. Not bad, but not exactly that great either. Of course, I could think of a dozen reasons why half of them didn’t get done. But those are merely excuses. Thus I won’t bother, unless I’m inclined to fool myself.
Still, the 7 that did get done, I’m quite proud of those. Guess I can re-attempt the goals left unfulfilled, one way or another.

I promised that I must first finish my slides for tomorrow’s presentation, only then can I watch the latest Grey’s Anatomy. I was so amazed at how fast I finished the thing! And my slides were “tight”, no lengthy paragraphs, long-winded tables or any of those fillers folks put in their ppt decks. So pleased with self, and the latest GA made me laugh out loud, especially the last scene between Derek and Addison. The look on Derek’s face was.. priceless.
