I had many purchase inquiries even though nothing sold as of yet, many many big nibbles and chomps. Hopefully something will pan out.
There were many many people who came by to check out the art and the night just flew by. Quite a successful party, and I’m hoping for a sale or two to make it all the more wonderful. For now, I’m pooped and ready for bed.
Here are some pics from the night:

I just got off the phone with a local reporter at the Lansing State Journal. They’re hoping to run an article on it for tomorrow’s paper… I tend to get a little nervous with interviews… thinking, “wow I sound like a moron” as I’m speaking. This time I think I did pretty well. We shall see! Anyhow, this little bitty (attached image) came out in today’s art paper and features one of my paintings! :D
Baby steps! Only two more days till the opening!

Well, this past Saturday (yesterday) I spent the afternoon arranging, measuring, and hanging my work – all 11 pieces that I created in April and May. Now, I thought framing sort of put me into a state of Zen, but wow… once you get the hang of it, hanging can be kind of meditative as well. My room in the gallery found itself perfectly splashed with my paintings all lined up spilling over from one wall to the next. With that excitement out of the way, we will begin the process of anticipating the opening. :)
I still have to get a little email invitation to send out to people as a reminder of the show’s opening this Friday – this may appear redundant after the paper invitations I sent out, but I want to make sure people don’t forget. Nothing would make me happier than a nice robust turnout. Group shows should be inherently good at getting one more exposure from people you wouldn’t normally see at your own opening.
Ok, now… what to wear on Friday?! :D
