GlassEyesCliched but PRACTICE does make perfect =]

I literally practised doing this – knuckle by knuckle for about an hour. 16 months ago

4outof10Start with a poker chip and away you go!

It sent everybody I knew bananas but with a little help from my friend youtube and beginning with a poker chip, I finally mastered the one way “roll” across my knuckles. It’s been a year since that time though and still haven’t managed to make it roll back with dropping. 2 years ago

Learning to do this can be annoying, but if one keeps trying it happens…eventually. What helps is a coin that is the right size for you. I like the 500 peso, a Mexican coin that is nice and heavy. 3 years ago

pblantonCoin Size

I have learned that a regular American coin is a little too small to learn with. I have a crapload of 1 troy oz. silver rounds and I am using one of those to practice with. They are of varying sizes but all a little larger than a standard American silver dollar.

Unfortunately they sell at the spot price of Silver plus a premium of about 70 cents. Currently at about $16.

You can buy them in bulk from gold and silver dealers like California Numismatic, Monex or Blanchard. Or you can pay a little more (about $20) and buy a single one on Ebay.

They are great for practicing with and in fact are a darned good investment to boot. 4 years ago

I can do it! It’s still pretty slow though, I guess it takes practice. 4 years ago

I’m up to 19 per minute returning the coin to my index finger with my thumb and 10 per minute rolling the coin down my hand and back up again.

I don’t want to lose the 20c coin I use now because they have gone out of circulation and have been replaced by a smaller coin. 5 years ago

benrkaypractice, practice, practice

audio book, i-pod, coin and thats it

it is definitely worth it and it helps if you are learning the guitar to 5 years ago

PatkellyJust Get a 50 cent piece and practice

I thought it would be harder but that is truely all it took. If the coin falls off your fingers you just pick it up and try again. I’m out of practice now, but once I start doing it it comes right back to me. 5 years ago
