Dear Olivia:

If I were a real love letter, this is how I would sound. I would make sure to begin subtly, and not give all my feelings away at first. I would let you know that I’m listening to your words and that they caress my thoughts any time I think of any topic because we talk so much. I would then tell you that I admire your hope and zeal for life, and how it makes me want to reach out and obtain the things I have always wanted to do. I would even go so far as to tell you that you make me want to be a better person just for you.
If I were a real love letter, I would say your name more than once in the letter, just so you know that the writer has become familiar with its sound and has perfected its sweet aria. For example, I might say something about how you love unique and very odd treasures, and that it makes me love you more, Olivia. I might say how those four syllables make me know that you were meant for me because their mere sound is like music. I might even rhyme a little for you, then you would know how much of a real love letter I am.
If I were a real love letter, I would tell you that no one could hold a candle to you or the love we share—how I would love you in spite of all difficulty and how I appreciated your presence in those difficulties in the past.
If I were a real love letter, I could only possess a mere fraction of the love that I was meant to convey because the writer can only write so much, but I would be a great love letter. The best love letter you’ve ever read because this love is real and deeply sincere.
If only I were a real love letter…

Does anybody have any idea how to go about accomplishing this goal?
I am stumped. How will someone know I want this or that I want this from them?

I am 26 years old… had several boyfriends….. and never received a love letter….
As the other people below have commented, a letter has to be spontaneous and from their heart without prompting or nagging or hints…. I shall leave this as an item on my list because I would love it so much…. Whether it happens or not is another story …. and one I shall love to see unfold!

It’s a bit of a hard ‘goal’ to recieve a love letter that kind of thing isn’t really up to you, it’s not as special if you’re hinting for one.
My most resent letter was sent by a stranger who i’d met at a bar, he’d tracked down my work address – very sweet probably would had followed it up just for the effort he’d taken but am happily married.

I still do...

There are a few people who see problems with this goal, (and maybe I will too one day), but I can’t help but desire this to happen. I remember in high school there was this guy who wrote me a love letter and poem because he was SO in love with me, but I didn’t like him. I thought it was incredibly sweet though for him to care so much to let me know it.
I love words and for me to receive a love letter from someone that I love would be the best. To form the ideas that form into words and then sentences to describe how much he loves me would be wonderful. I can’t help it. I still want it to happen. If it doesn’t, I wouldn’t die…I would love for it to happen though…

Car is knocking out her 43Things with great alacrity.
i’m not leaving it as a goal anymore. you can’t make people love you, and the ones that do love you do what they are going to do.
so it’s not really a goal over which i have any control

As much fun as writing a love letter.

But it’s so awful when you only like the other person as a friend, you feel like the meanest person alive, especially when the letter is really sweet.
