Moved a little bit of concret! 14,000 pounds of it! And that is NOT a Surly exageration.
The cement truck pulled up to my backyard but it couldn’t get to where the cement needed to go. So wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow, M moved 14,000 pounds of cement to the patio.
I got to smooth it off. After I dumped the first wheelbarrow full of cement in the middle of the backyard, I wasn’t allowed to use that ultra-sophisticated yard tool anymore.
We did a patio for the hot tub :)
And the walkway from the gate to the deck.
On the walkway, I stamped the concret with a cool cobblestone pattern. It looks REALLY great. Sorry no pictures yet.

The deck is painted :)
It is a lovely blue color, matches the shutters and, if I say so myself, it looks FABULOUS!
my hands look like I’ve been slaughtering smurfs…

If only I could get the freakin mower started!
Saturday M checked the mower out, made sure it had gas and oil and stuff. It started just fine. I didn’t feel like mowing then. I figured I’d do it on Sunday.
Sunday, I wheel out the mower, I am sooooooo pumped up to cut some grass. I’ve been in my new house since September and have YET to mow the lawn. I pushed the primer button, held the handle thingy in and pulled the cord.
NOTHING
Not even a little engine sputter
NOTHING
The next day fuckbag stops over. I asked him if he could start it. He does. IN ONE PULL!!! WTF???
Could it be I’m too much of a girly girl and I can’t pull hard enough? (keep it clean, get your mind out of the gutter)
I feel like such a failure because I need help with the lawn!!!
I should be able to handle this! I bet monkeys could start a lawn mower! I should be able to start it!
What the hell is wrong with me?
I soooooooo don’t want to call some man for help :(

Am I a HUGE geek or what? :D
The glowing parts around the outside, you know, the part where they “lock in” the individual chevrons… SOLAR LIGHTS!!!
Yeah, when I make the gate, I need to incorporate those solar light things! How freakin COOL!!!

It is still covered in snow but I need to start planning.
My first thought is to PAVE IT OVER!!!
Next thought, I NEED a Stargate. (If I build it, they will come?)
I have yet to see a Stargate for purchase. I will need to make one. Maybe 3 foot diameter? LMAO OK, If I’m making a Stargate, I might as well make it big… 5 foot diameter
Open for suggestions on how to accompish this! Anyone???
Here’s a pic just in case you aren’t geeky enough to know what a Stargate is :)
