Chai by the sea 3 months ago

A festival dedicated to coffee, tea, chai and sweets of the world? I’ve always wanted to attend an event where the whole thing was just one big food court, and yesterday was an adventurous feast for our senses. The annual Aroma Festival held in The Rocks, here we come!

It was as packed as can be, but with Cullyn in the sling we could wander through the crowds leisurely and with ease (I felt bad for all the flustered parents with prams) sampling yummy teas and chocolates and chili sauce and meringue. We basked in the unexpected sunshine and sat on a bobbing pier beneath the Harbour Bridge, sipping our rainbow chai and giggling as the sea rocked the pier from side to side – Cullyn was mesmerised.

There was a troupe of fantastic Taiko drummers, who just blew our minds with their hypnotic and very primal performance. I would love to take some of their classes. Cullyn LOVED the drums, and drew his own crowd as he bopped along vigorously to the beats (in between songs he would get so eager for the music to start again that he wold beat my chest like a drum and shake his head around like a crazy gypsy!)

Such an amazing day of foodie adventuring and exploring – great company, the BEST food, the glistening harbour, surprise picture-perfect weather, and guess what? I forgot to pack my camera. Poo!

There was this kooky spectacle too!

As we made our way home, we stumbled upon an amazing store that I am definitely going to back to and spend up big in the very-soon-future. They sell the most amazing yoga inspired attire and I am IN LOVE with them. In L.O.V.E. I tell you!

To top it all off nicely, we caught the train home from my favourite subway, St. James Station. I love that station, with it’s old time concourse, arched platform and dim lighting…rambling and ratty and very romantic in it’s own funny way. It made me feel so happy to live in this pretty little city.

FINALLY! 14 months ago

So, late this summer I went out with one of my friends and we went on a REALLY adventure. We wandered around an abandoned factory for an entire day. It was creepy. It was amazing. I can’t wait to go and tour around there again.

It was a fantastic adventure.

Well I’m only a child right now, so I guess I haven’t been on many adventures, my life hasn’t been quiet though I admit. What I mean by adventures is like solve mysteries or go on a ghost hunt, things that would be really fun. I’d also like to go on the typical adventure I guess, whatever that might be.

I used to have adventures . . . 22 months ago

or atleast my personal definition for adventures like walking around the city aimlessly with friends :) It’s been awhile since I had an adventure, but I think that soon I will be able to continue with my adventures because I am moving to a new city where I will hopefully meet new friends who love to go on adventures and much as I :)

Today I went on a little adventure with my friend Lish. We went on a walk on this trail in my town which ends up at a school/campground where there are a bunch of little playgrounds. So we played on the swings and the slide and had a great time. I got butterflies in my stomach everytime I went up on the swing, its sort of scary! There was a field with one of those things that football players practice with, where they run into them and try to push them across the field. We tried but we were only able to move it a total of like a foot in several tries. All in all it was a very fun walk and adventure!

Egmont Key 2 years ago

The entire trip to Florida was an adventure, really, but the day we took the boat out to Egmont key was my favourite day there. I loved being on the deserted island, with the ruins of Fort Dade.

Big Horn Mine 2 years ago

Two friends and I drove up into the San Gabriel mountains, and after a wrong turn that ended at a ski lift (in May) we set out for Big Horn Mine… The trail ended at an old stamp mill, and we had to climb up this old, rickety wooden ladder to get to the mine opening. We spent a long time exploring the mine, climbing over cave-ins (!) and following mine cart tracks so we wouldn’t get lost. Amazing!

Hollywood Forever... again 2 years ago

A couple friends and I went back to the Hollywood Forever cemetery for Rudy Valentino’s memorial. We picnicked on the Fairbanks lawn and watched “The Son of the Sheik” (which is actually quite good), stood in a shower of rose petals as the biplane dropped them, were attacked by a black swan (who also wouldn’t let us leave the island with the crypt on it after we returned at midnight to knock on the door of the crypt… it has a door knocker; wouldn’t you knock?) and sat in the mausoleum as the sun set behind brilliant stained glass.
