How I did it: I had been toying with the idea for months, as a way to start a new chapter in my life. I was working in Sitka over the summer, and this tattoo parlor was RIGHT at the end of the bridge. I have a friend who got tattooed there and he said they did amazing work, so I just did it, and am so glad that I did! Lessons & tips:

How I did it: I started with her ideas - what she wanted to have, what she wanted it to represent. Then we brainstormed some images that would represent those things. After settling on a few elements, I began combining them in different ways in sketches. I looked up a few images on the internet of various representations of some of the elements (a tribal drum, arrows, etc,) and used them to modify my ideas of what they could look like… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I started late one night and just drew what I imagined my perfect tattoo looking like. I looked up examples of butterflys online and used ideas from them to make my own. I wrote my middle name in cool letter that I designed also. Then, each day I changed something I didn't like or fixed something that didn't look right to me untill it was perfect. Read how I did it…

How I did it: After my Dad passed away I wanted something to honour his memory. He had a swallow tattoo from his army days and I love wolves. I drew a wolf watching a swallow flying free past a full moon and up into the sky. I kept it in just black and I'm very pleased with the end results. Read how I did it…

I was 17, i had worked all summer and I had felt different than I ever had in my life. Looking back on it I was probably the happiest I had been in as long as I could ever remember. I think I only drew it three times, but I went in and got it done as a late birthday present to myself.

So while I was in Alaska for a month, I decided to go for it and get my tattoo. I got a four leaf clover on the back of my neck- it’s completely healed now and I love it!

I designed a tattoo of my partner’s name with roses round it that I got off wingdings. By putting the name in a cool font, then printing it out and pasting the roses round the name, it looked really cool.
I’ve designed a tattoo for myself. My childrens initials are in a diamond formation and then to the left and right are lots of cascading butterfly’s.
