I did this in chem class. it was a lot of fun. I want to make it by myself at home too!
How I did it: With eggs, milk, cream, caster sugar and a friend who's a chef! We whipped it all together and popped it in the freezer and then watched the SATC box set. It was a great night :) The next morning it was ready and it was totally sinful. But delicious! We need more peanut butter appreciation in Ireland!

I made my first sherbet (I still pronounce it like sherbert, always will). It was for the engagement party today and it was pretty good, I think I’ll use dairy with a higher fat content than half and half next time.

I made a lovely little sherbet from jasmine green tea and honey for the engagement party.
3 1/2 cups brewed honey-jasmine tea
3/4 cup half and half
3/4 cup honey
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp lemon juice

We have some friends who gave us a cool ice cream maker for X-mas last year. It looks like a gerbil ball and I guess you just toss it around to mix it up. But then again, I can see me doing this with my kids someday. I mean, doesn’t that just sound like fun family bonding, no matter what the age?

I got an ice cream maker for my bday (electric, 2 qt) so now I have no reason not to. I just gotta go buy the stuff for the recipe.
I haven’t done this yet. I’m sure this isn’t the World Record for procrastination, but it sure feels like it. Maybe I should just start with vanilla . . .
Higher in calories, creamier and very delicious! Try peach, that is my favorite for home made.
mejaka is on the preferred substitute list--for Project. Weird.
I grew up with homemade ice cream for barbecues and stuff. So did my husband. Several people I know have and use ice cream freezers. Ours is electric, but I remember before Mom and Dad got their electric how Dad would crank the old manual one.
What I want is a big White Mountain hand-crank model that I can hook up to the chain on a bike so that I can make ice cream by pedaling for a half hour!
and my coworkers and I chipped in and bought an ice cream maker. Every friday we would make a new flavor. We had heard of Ben and Jerry’s but it wasn’t yet available in our area. We bought the recipe book and made some of the flavors from that.
The best was Kahlua Heath Bar Crunch.
