Bleh! ;-p
I just got back from an appointment with my doctor, and she confirmed that the new date is now on the books! :-( which now means a longer wait for baby!!!!!
I thought that I had about a month to go, but it looks like it’s more like 2 months according to my doctor! The ultrasound confirms it too… although I don’t put a lot of faith in the ultrasound as I think that the dates are out, but in any case, I’ve finally decided to revise my countdown to the maximum possible amount of time so that I can get this new timeframe in my head.
It took a lot of convincing to revise the countdown as I was totally confident that the first due date that I had was correct, but based on the measurements it looks like the later one is probably more realistic.
Just becuase I have to add another 3 weeks to the countdown doesn’t mean that the baby is going to wait until that time: who knows, maybe the baby will come some time between the new and old dates.
At first, when I learned of the “new” due date I was really surprised, and shocked, then I was very annoyed and mad, but now I’m accepting it, because there’s no definate way of predicting the due date as baby will come when baby wants to. I just want baby to be healthy.
It’s just hard when you have a certain timeframe in mind, and then it gets extended—when you’re so excited about baby coming, and then having to wait even more, plus getting bigger, and bigger is not fun. I feel like a hybrid of an elephant and an whale! LOL.
At least I’ve only gone up a pound in the month since my last doctor’s appointment which makes the day a little bit better.
I’m also happy that the countdown clock is back, and working properly—even if it’s the old countdown, at least it’s something to look forward to…..
Now back to counting days, weeks, and eeek months! 5 years ago
