my husband and I bought a single wide mobile home so that I can tear it apart and “rebuild” it. I wouldn’t do this if I paid 100,000 for a new home!! I am an artist and love to work with clay, cement, and many other new and wonderful things I learn to use to build my “castle”. I will build a castle around my mobile home while remodeling the inside. So far I have replaced the walls of the middle bedroom combining the 2nd bathroom with it so that it is one big “bathroom/spa”. The walls are “code” now. The shower is all mosaic (almost done) – an underwater theme. The floors are all ceramic tile, some broken and pieced together some whole tile sections. I have removed part of the floor that will eventually be an indoor Koi pond with indoor “spray”. I have begun a large koi pond outside that will surround my “tower” that I have also begun to build. Now that it is winter…outside will have to wait…but the inside:)that is my playground for now! I will deveolp the photos I have taken of the process to download the next time I visit. I have done this work mostly by myself as my husband hates “building things”. I am 53!! NEVER judge a book by it’s cover and NEVER think your are too old to learn new tricks. It may take me the rest of my life but I will have my tunnels, secret passages, castle walls, heavy doors and cold drafty rooms!!

For the longest time I’ve wanted to build and live in a stereotypical castle with a moat, drawbridge, dungeon, towers, secret passageways…

I know it will take some time to make this dream a reality, but I’m determined to see it come to pass.

I’m going to make Borthick Castle after I get out of the Navy.
There is already a Borthwick Castle in Scotland, but that was when the surname still had a “w” in it, and they weren’t even our relatives because Borthwick was a clan.
That’s where I come in… ;)

I have always been enchanted by castles. Finaly I decided to do something about it. I plan to build my own castle, starting in a year or so. First I will build the Keep, about 3,000 sq. ft. The rest of the castle buildings and wall will come later. I will do almost all of the work myself, and build with split-faced CMUs. Does this sound crazy? yeah. Especially since I’m an 18 yr. old girl in my first year of college. But just watch. I’m gonna’ prove them all wrong and build me a castle!

I am building a castle, actually a 10’ diameter tower in my backyard with rocks I “borrowed” from various neighboors (i checked w/them first) and quikrete. I also got about 300 bricks from a friend at school (it’s amazing what you can get if you don’t mind admitting that you’re a sophemore in highscool and you’re building a castle!). I hope to finish in summer ‘07, it should be about 10 feet high. This is practice for my real castle i’ll be spending most of my life building (it will be MUCH larger). I’m doing all the work by myself.

I have dreamed as a child that I was a princess in a castle waiting for my prince to come along…one day I grew up and my prince did find me but we are missing our castle…BUilding a castle to live in and, one day, raise our children in is something we really want…I know it may sound unrealistic to some but its not different then building a home out of brick…it just doesn’t have a dungeon

I’d like to build my own castle that I could live in. I’ve found a company that will build the castle but I need more money than I have now. castles start new 250K up to 2 mil not including the land.
