OK, this sounds corny I know, but I would really like to know and experience myself what it’d be like to have a celebrity as a friend – someone whom I can hang out with, maybe write and record a couple of songs with, and whom I can learn from to better myself as a person in the direction I want to take. I believe people who are success orientated tend to gravitate towards successful people, and people who are failures try to run away from failures or are either ignored or pitied by successful people. I have got friends who are mutual friends of some famous Australian artists (and a couple of overseas ones), but I don’t obsess about their celebrity friends to them. I really want to first make a name for myself with my own music instead of just riding somebody else’s coat tails to get out there. Brisbane bands Regurgitator and The Veronicas wrote a couple of songs about this called “I Sucked A Lot Of Cock To Get Where I Am” and “Popular”.
Plus I am someone whom once I strike up a friendship with anybody will always be open to listen and help them out in any way I can if they ever fall on hard times. Having done a bit of counselling myself with my previous studies, I am not the sort of person who will ‘kiss and tell’.
