it was just a university performance, but i thoroughly enjoyed it! i was told that the university theatre performance wasn’t as good as a “real” show, but it was my first experience with the whole “live” thing and i loved every minute of it. =)
My roomie invited me to go on the Saturday before Hallowe’en. It turns out that her ex is the MC of the biggest production in my city. What surprised me was that a friend of mine was playing Frank N. Furter! It was a freakin’ blast, and I had an excuse to wear a corset (two firsts in one night). Ironically, I knew more of the audience participation lines than my roomie, and she’s been to see it a few times.
On Halowe’en Monday, my friend and co-worker had a spare ticket for another production. This time it was the stage version; my friend wanted to go in support of her actress-friend. Well, well, well, if I didn’t know the guy playing Frank in this one as well! Hilarity. What really amused me is the fact that neither of these blokes is they type you’d peg for a lingerie-wearing Rocky Horror fan.
Good times.
after four years of being obsessed with this movie, i finally saw it live in montreal (at theatre corona) last october. it was amazing — i want to do this every year now!
