casesandcapitals I've lost all my momentum... trying to get started up again...

    saturday 5 months ago

    - held to my liquid diet until about noon
    - handled being dumped (again) by andrew
    - only had one panic attack
    - called my only girl friend left on the phone (my other girlfriend is married now with a kid on the way..so not a lot of gossip time..)
    - went to fashion bug with my dad just to get out and look at clothes i might buy some day
    - resisted the urge to buy candy (damn boys)
    - made a list of upcoming shows i wanna watch and taped them next to my tv :)
    - added “start and finish p90x” to my goal list and also finished my “list daily food intake” goal
    - practiced my sign language alphabet
    - made a “i’m excersizing, please come back later” sign to put on my door so that my dad and sue dont come knocking when i’m in the middle of p90x or yoga (which is annoying)

i think i’ll finally mark this as completed..

    - watched battlestar galactica with my dad while we ate cheeseburgers
    - got p90x in the mail and read though most of the book, took my befroe pictures and did the “strech” dvd just to get used to the program before i start on monday.
    - i was inspired to try a full pushup instead of the knee pushups i usually do and i did 5! i never could do even one!!
    - all my aches and pains were gone after i streched and i felt great and happy
    - watched some of the p90x dvds to see what they were like (awesome)
    - didn’t get upset when andrew didnt want me over his house with the rest of the guys. whatever.

so i went onto youtube because i was bored, and started looking up videos of all my favorite local bands. and i was a little selfishly upset to see that Sparks The Rescue videos have become outrageous. 2 years ago you could type “sparks the rescue” into youtube and half the videos that came up would be mine (under casesandcapitals of course), and the other half some girl who goes by jessamber. i was kinda proud of the fact that kids my age across the country were watching my videos when sparks wasnt on tour. but now you have to go to about the 6th page in to find any of my old videos because every 14 year old with a camera has videos of their new music up. i was upset about this for a while because most of these kids probably werent even at their eariler shows a few years ago. but then i thought about it. they can upload as many videos as they want, but i’ll always have my old ones. i can stake a claim in the beginning of this band and i provided kids with videos when the band wasn’t big enough to tour constantly. and no matter how many views these kids are getting on their videos now, they’ll never be able to have “2006” in the discription.
Same with The Cambiata, my first video i ever uploaded to youtube was the cambiata in orono. but now everyone has their videos up but only one other person has a video put up before mine, and that one only by two months.
I might sound a little ridiculous or selfish but those shows back then meant something to me and the scene wasnt just about clothes and listening to the most popular local band of the moment. it was about road trips to see your favorite band even if the only other people in the audience were the other bands who had just finished playing and even if you didnt take a bunch of pictures to put on myspace later. shows were like therapy for me and i was emotionally affected if i went without a show too long. i mean, i’ve gone to shows alone before just to see a band even if all my friends hated their music. when flyers were still printed on paper and handed out at the door and not sent out on myspace bulletins. i miss going to see bands i went to school with and paying 5 bucks to get in and ten bucks for a shirt and cd.
I’ll list the things i did well today.

    - I remembered great times
    - I felt pride in my home state of Maine
    - I felt old for the first time
    - I spoke my mind on the internet and didnt worry what people would think
    - I felt good

Listing things I did well today 6 months ago

as a goal has served me well, on those days when I felt a complete failure, I’d start listing only positive things, and hey presto before I knew it I’d feel great about myself.

I think I need to evolve this goal so I’m going to mark this as done, and create a new goal- Take a daily inventory of myself. This will be a list of positive and things I’d like to improve on, and I’ll give myself a score- 10 is totally positive -10 is totally negative!! 0 is pretty much balanced!
