I think I can safely consider this goal done! Not in the sense that I did it once and that was it, oh no, I had a very good dj-night on Thursday at a festival, and they asked me to dj again on Sunday, and in June I can DJ before and after a concert of Born Ruffians in my favorite venue, so I can really say this goal is achieved! Planning on doing much more dj-ing! I think I’ll put up a site for myself and stuff, and hopefully get more requests, cause dj-ing is definitely very very cool and fun to do!! Gets my adrenaline going!
How to dj
How I did it: I've 'always' wanted to DJ, it just looked so cool, and I'm a big musiclover and I was working for radio at the time, so it only seemed logical to go do it. It wasn't until my friends gave me 'DJ-ing for dummies' as a fun gift on my birthday that I could no longer not do anything with it. So I saw it as a sort of challenge, read the book (for fun, it wasn't like it really taught me anything new), stepped over my fear and just sent a small nightclub an email saying I wanted to go DJ. And voila!
Such a shame that the past year I've been ill and too tired to really continue this DJ-ing because it gives me so much energy, it's the best thing ever! Making people dance, let them have a good time, simply by putting on some good records!
Lessons & tips: If you start out small (don't phone the huge nightclubs just yet, start practising in the small local ones) by pretending you're a DJ, soon enough you will no longer have to pretend: one day you'll suddenly realize you're a DJ!
People doing this are also doing these things:

Me and my DJ-ing partner in crime totally rocked Club Nina on Friday! The floor was filled, everybody was dancing, and afterwards we got loads of compliments of DJ-ing so well! I really really loved it and most definitely want to do this more often, it was so much fun!!
Suddenly out of nowhere I’ve got two dj-sets coming up! One on the 11th of April in that small nightclub, and one on the 22nd of May at a festival, to dj before, inbetween and after live-performances of bands! So exciting!!
Last night I was at a new small nightclub where a friend of mine played with his band, and afterwards there was this DJ who wasn’t mixing very well I think because she was just trying out. So when I woke up this morning I thought ‘why not ask them if I can try-out my DJ-ing skills?’ so I think I just have to mail them. If I don’t just force myself to go DJ-ing in public, anywhere, then I will never be able (or have the guts) to DJ!
My friends gave me the book ‘DJying for dummies’ for my birthday, hilarious! I guess they thinks it’s cool if I would continue pursuing this goal, so I might just actually do something about it!
I’d like to play out once or twice a month. I’ll need to practice, pick up more tracks, and get demo’s out.

I’m not actively working on this goal, it’s just something I’d like to do sometime because I love music, and despite changing jobs I still work as a music programmer for a radioshow, so one day it’d be cool to play lots of good music to a live audience!
I’ve got most of my cue points for my new mixset, I’ll hopefully record it sometime this week.
