How to improve vocabulary by oogaleboogale12

How I did it: i would read and look up words every day and learn the definitons then implement them in every day conversations. some of the words such as brobdingagian or sesquipedalian were not smoothly manifested in colloquy. for the most part I had my imagination so if i wanted to use the word "annihilating" and never got a chance to, I would dream up an unfathomable experience and incorporate the vocab word.

Lessons & tips: use the words and write down the meanings. just using it once won't help. If you are interested in the spelling part, i would suggest changing a password to a vocab word (it helps with memorization) however, I would do this very cautiously. thankfully if i ever forgot my facebook password because the word was too difficult, then i could always go to my email (whose password i NEVER changed) and reset it. be careful with this and do not be too sporadic with the words or you'll just forget them all.

    Aside from today’s Word of the Day,
    I have been studying for my animal behaviour final
    which occurs tomorrow at 2 pm.

    I’m learning a lot of new words all at once…
    guess I should attend lectures more often.

    What with everybody moving out and going back to their respective summer homes,
    the general mood around rez is quite winsome.
    But, I do detect an air of underlying sadness
    linked to the knowledge of the separation of friends that is to come.

    Step one 19 months ago

    My vocabulary is fairly decent
    as I did a lot of reading above my level when I was younger,
    but it could always use a boost.

    I have subscribed to Dictionary.com’s
    Word of the Day
    Today was my first day receiving it.
    I plan to implement each day’s word into my daily conversations.

    This will assure my practise toward my goal is ubiquitous.
    Pretty lame, I know.
