Poor garden
I haven’t been loving it very much at all over Winter. The chickens have raked over all the flower beds and eaten anything they could. Which although it looks barren in patches is good fro the soil and has got rid of any weeds. So now I need to get all Spring like and out there to plant stuff. I have to say a special thank you to my lovely orange flowers and my Orchid which bloom despite my neglect. I hope they know how much I appreciate that!

Sunday in the garden. Weeded planted beetroot, took cuttings from Rosemary (this never keeps up with how much I use & contantly looks as though it is nibbled by a goat.) Lavender, Clematis, I mulched the new flower bed, mowed the lawn and sat with a cup of tea at the end of the afternoon and let Brian the rabbit cavort on the newly mowed lawn and even was complimented by Grace on how nice the garden looked.

Spring had crept into the air. I went out to buy milk yesterday and came home with tomatoes and pansies as well. I sent the afternoon spreading compost and planting making vows to remember to water everything this time. I found all my old seed packets and have scattered them in the hope of drifts of lettuce. I found that despit my neglect and no sign of life above earth my Kipfler potatoes had produced 10 little Kipflers. Immagine if I had looked after them! Got Clive to give the lawn its’ first mow of the season and relished in the doors and windows all being open. It has been a long chilly winter.
