Tuition $700. Overall with all the things you need to get done I’ve been told it costs $1100 roughly. Oh well. It’s a stepping stone to get my paramedic license, which I feel would be a very good career move. 3 years ago

signora oye veyone of my many goal-less pursuits of junior college

Junior college was like a playground for me. I forgot to focus on getting out of there and into a 4-year university; instead I just flipped through the catelog each semester and took classes that looked fun or interesting. Isn’t that how education should be?

My JC had an EMT program, so I joined up. It was a ton of work (I forgot to notice that I was signing up for a six-unit class), but I felt so satisfied having learned the things I did. I never worked as an EMT, but I’m grateful for the experience and the knowledge. 6 years ago

I decided to cert as an EMT after I witnessed someone I knew very well go into cardiac arrest, and I was unable to help. Now I work for one of the most cutting edge ambulance services in Illinois and I am working towards my Paramedic license. By far was the best thing I have done in my life so far. 6 years ago

PasadenaSueThe coursework was interesting.

Unfortunately I never worked in the field. My plans fell thru. Oh well, knowledge is always useful. 7 years ago

Scott JohnsonI miss it.

I was certified as an EMT in Virginia in 1989, and worked both with a local rescue squad and with the Civil Air Patrol. I have found that I really miss the satisfaction I used to get from doing something that really made a difference, and from helping people in a real, immediate sort of way. I have been kicking around the idea of re-certifying here in Georgia for years. Maybe this will get me going. 7 years ago
