Our local paper did a really good series on a 40 year old, unsolved crime. All of the intriguing elements came into play: small town where everyone knew everyone else, two older openly homosexual men, a strange older woman with a past, staging of the scene, and voodoo. I’m pretty sure that they had the man who did it. The ex-con who went on to commit similar crimes involving: driving around with the victims, gruesome staging of crime scene and dumping bodies in remote areas. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. The sexual orientation of the men and voodoo were just incidentals that started rumors.
No need to solve this one but it is a good read. I’ve been hearing crazy stories about this murder since I moved here the first time in the early 1980’s.
