HELP. 7 months ago

i`m usually extremely intelligent, especially in sciences.
but the test we got back proves otherwise.
42 / 50
In my family , that`s a disgrace. it doesn’t help if you have parents with two doctorates each . . .
It`s quite weird because on my last physics exam i got 27/30
and i actually did study for at least 5-6 hours for this exam.
gah , does anyone have any idea`s or tips about how i should study for my next physics exam. ( PS . were doing electricity

OMGGGG A-!!!!!!!! 15 months ago

Okay, so I did HORRIBLY on the final, but the professor gave us extra points if we participated in class. Though I skipped a few days, whenever I was there, I sat in front and was very active! OMG I can’t believe I got an A in PHYSICS! People, if I can do it ANYONE can do it, but it also has a lot to do with the professor. This professor had A LOT of other assignments where as my older professor based our grades on exams only. This professor gave extra credit and also, the whole “if you participate in class” grade bump. If your professor actually grades homework and stuff PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! I took it forgranted to begin with, but if I had been serious about my assignments from day 1, I could have made a flat out ZERO on the final and still made an A- or a B+. So, I’m beating myself up for not doing my best from the get go. when it comes to homework, find a CHEAP but GOOD tutor (if you have to change the tutor all the time, that is fine. But I had a tutor who was 75 bucks and thought “He must be good” then I got one who was 20 and 10x better). COMPARE your homework with your friends before you turn it in. SEE the professor in his office hours about ANYTHING.

Also, if your TA is kind of a cocky jackass at first, you’ll learn to get used to him and maybe even like him. LOL (that being said, I don’t know my lab grade yet, but it’s gotta be an A).

sigh SOOOO HAPPPY! looks at GPA aww, baby, you’re going to be acceptable now!

Weekend Studying Not Good 15 months ago

I was planning on reviewing the basics this weekend, but it just didn’t happen. Friday, I turned in my homework and aced it. Saturday, I went kayaking and then made some music. Today, I lazied, did a LITTLE bit of studying and then I got so mad that my friend stood me up that I couldn’t concentrate. My room is messy. I’m terribly sore. Ugh, I’m just not happy. I’m going to go to bed.

OMIGOD YOU GUYS 15 months ago

starts singing Omigod! Omigod, you guys!

Guess what? I took the test. Then he went over the answers. I got one wrong which wouldn’t hurt my grade. Then I got another wrong. Then it looked like I got yet another wrong, but I proved to the professor that he was incorrect so I got it right PLUS extra credit! AND I answered the trick question correctly which means I am probably making an A on this test! AHHHH! I can’t believe it! I have NEVER made an A on a PHYSICS test EVER in my LIFE!!!

And then we turned in our homework via internet tonight and I made a 99.7!

Oh my god…. You guys. If I can make a B on the final, I might actually have an effin’ A in physics. Oh my god. The final is next thursday. I am going to study my butt off!!!

Hard 15 months ago

The homework is hard. I can’t figure out this thing… sigh
So I am going to go back and do some problems in my work book and stuff. So much stuff to cover… Does anyone even know what a “velocity selector” is? Agh!

I will! 15 months ago

I made a C+ last semester. I have to make an A or my GPA is forever ruined.

So far, I’ve made an 89 and 96 on the homework and a 75 and 30 on the exams. He drops the lowest everything. This friday is a new homework and exam. Wish me luck!

Our professor is really nice that he drops grades so easily. We figured out that if we do the homework together and input it together (our homework is done on the internet), we can optimize our scores. So, hopefully this time, instead of making a 96, I will make a 99.

I'm going to try! 1 year ago

My teacher believes that giving us equations and then giving us problems is the equivalent to teaching. He has never taught physics before and it shows. Our whole class is suffering and the average on the last test was a thirteen out of twenty. We all wind up learning out of the book which is confusing as hell. I’ve often had to ask my math teacher to help me with problems because he actually explains them. The marking period just ended and i wound up with an 83 because he never checked homework or classwork which was 20% of our grade, so we all got hundreds on that. I’m hoping if I try a lot harder and find other people to teach me I will be able to pull off an A.

On that note if anybody knows any good websites or books to help me please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated.
