i’m a boy of 18, from nepal, trying to enter a medical college through merit. i really need some motivation right now, because i know i can succeed it if i too “study like crazy” like many people did here.. have an exam coming in about a month, that can grant me scholarship if i come on the top 40 lists out of ten thousands.. which is really difficult as the competition is too fierce, and i can only afford to make 3 or 4 mistakes out of a total of 100 questions (consists of physics, chemistry and biology only)
i know what i got to do, just need to study lots and turn some hours of my nights into days..
even if i don’t get through this year, i’m not going to give up. i’m going to work harder and stay true to myself, and I WILL BE A DOCTOR!

How I did it: I enrolled in a dental school through merit. Had to work and concentrate very hard on the task at hand.Though there were a lot of doubts if i could do it in one go .. since my friends were falling left and right, i managed to keep my focus and give a final leap to land as a doctor Lessons & tips: Dont give in to doubts or worry about the future. Resources: Any doubts about dental school, i'll clarify to the best of my ability

I got the Highers I desperatley needed and have applied to:
- Oxford
- UCL
- Edinburgh
- St.Andrews
*Leeds (Back-up of Microbiology with Virology)- Conditional ABB at Adv. Highers;I don’t why I didn’t just apply to Glasgow and get an Unconditonal like all my friends! :[
I have also done the UKCAT and got an average of 630 which i’m happy with :)
Now the BMAT is JUST around the corner (3 days to go) and I’ve just started to study :O
What have I done to myself!!!
I feel sick at this… (Hopefully God’ll help me out with this one)

First I wanted to be a vet. I have a picture from kindergarden of what i wanted to be. I chose vet. When i was about 12, i started researching med school, and medical subjects. It was so interesting! I still want to be a vet, but i also want to be a doctor. So i decided i needed to choose. Vet or doctor. After months of thinking, doctor seems like my path. Who knows. Maybe i will go to vet school as well =D
I have it all planned out. I WILL become a doctor. I will, theres no doubt about it. It will happen no matter what. It is what i want, and i want it bad, THEREFOR I WILL HAVE IT!!!

I was a medical student when I was 18. By the time I was 21, I wasn’t. Now I’m 33 and I have a dream once again of becoming a doctor, now with the benefit of hindsight, maturity and experience.
I’m actively pursuing this as of July 2009. I’m currently trying to study for GAMSAT, become involved with the Red Cross, and apply through UCAS.
