moonlit_reveriesWaiting by the shore

A rush of doubt washes over my shore
Grey murky waters splashing at my feet
Begging me to sink down
And become powerless once more

Slapped by salty waves of cold indifference
I still wait, leaving everything behind
Though some days I feel foolish
When the gloomy sea is still and barren

Blank waters span forever in endlessness
Staring back at me with a cold murky glare
I watch the horizon far in the distance
Waiting for your ship

He begs me to come back to his arms
And give up my childish whims
But you draw me to the shore each day
A faint hope, that some day I’ll catch a glimpse of your sail
~

I’d also love to try this one and capture the emotion in my picture if I can. I love photography that captures emotion 4 years ago

moonlit_reveriesPastel Glow of dawn

A pastel candy glow
Of daydreams washing over the shadows
Daffodil light skips across the waters
And sweeps across the sky
The waves rock softly
Whispering as they splash playfully
Tickling the shore

Shadows once lurked in these coves
Hiding within the deepest crevices
When hope was lost at nightfall

But dawn bursts through once more
Light emerges and melts the darkness
Kissing each shadow with sunshine
Like the waves kiss each sand grain
Washing away mistakes written in the sand

I peak though my silky curtains
Filled with a soft tender glow
As I leave the past behind
To start a new day
~

This is one poem that I’d really like to capture in a photograph…but it would involve being at the beach around dawn or sunrise…and I’m NOT an early bird and I don’t live really near the beach at all (I’m 2 hours away, which I guess is lucky considering some people live way inland), and I might not even get lucky and get a sunrise that matches my vision. But the idea of watching the sun rise on the beach sounds thrilling and romantic (even if I’m alone.)

moonlit_reveriesMidnight dance (a sea-themed poem)

Alone I wait
For something pressing
But entirely unknown
With a song in my heart
And an urge in my feet
As the moonlight clothes me in silvery beauty
And my whimsical eyes sparkle with starlight.

Sweeping past my feet,
The midnight tide beckons me
Calling out my name
As the waves rush over the rocks
Leaving nothing but foam
Fading away like memories

With damp sand beneath my feet
I twirl and spin
Moving forward, but then backwards
Never sure if I’m coming or going
But my feet stay in motion
As my footprints paint patterns upon the sand.
And the silvery light illuminates
my dark figure cloaked in night
Hiding the shadows of my soul 4 years ago

moonlit_reveriesPowerless (a sea themed poem)

Swept away at sea, I am lost
Alone in my desperation
The waves roll past me
Crashing into emptiness
Over and over
Into timeless longing

A sparkle of light dashes across the water
Filled with intrigue, I follow the swirls and jump in
As they sink slowly
Pulling me in
As I follow my decline
And melt into addiction

But all is well
I’m in control
Until the water rises
And splashes over my head

Deeper and Deeper
I sink
Pain and confusion spiral around me
My silent screams fill nothingness
~

It’s only a sea poem incidentally; the underlying theme is actually addiction. (I don’t think it’s my best but I’ll be posting all my sea-themed poems.) 4 years ago

moonlit_reveriesSea poems

I’m going to post some of my sea poems here and see if I get any inspiration and see if some lines spark an image. Then I can work on finding out what kind of seaside would be best for me. 4 years ago
