get my first job

ive been looking for one for like a year im 18 and bearly outta highschool. i need one to help me pay my school and other things to purchase!!! i want one by the end of summer!

I’m 17 and I’ve never worked before, and I realized that getting a job and a solid work reference would help me a lot in university. A lot of my friends have also started working, and I also need money :p

I put it off for a while with a lot of excuses, but I was actually scared inside of what they would say when they saw my resume. I finally gathered up the courage and gave my resume out to a few local places. I also got my friend to hand in my resume to the pizza call centre where he works, and I also applied to London Drugs online

I want to get a job after new years

I’m starting to run out of moneys xD plus I could do with having something on my CV at some point…I have to be kind of selective though, since it has to work around college and such. Need something with flexible hours xD

damn it! I’m 21 years old and I haven’t worked yet!!, not b/c I don’t want to… it’s just that the career I’m studying takes from me almost the whole day!!... So…This summer or sooner…I’m planing to get my first job!!!

An experience everyone should have. Its an amazing feeling to make your own money.

Left college, so now need to get my first ever job so I can save up some money!

Written my CV, now just need to write cover letters and hand them into places :)

Only thing I’m worried about is how retail shops may not want to hire me due to lack of experience, but I need to start somewhere!

I got employed this week at Shopko. I’m going to work in the apparel section of the store folding clothes, doing recovery, sometimes working truck and just overall keeping things nice and neat and helping customers find things.

Yesterday was my four hour orientation which consisted of me, two other “soon-to-be” employees, the lady conducting it, a large stack of papers to sign, four videos that are made to put you asleep and one little meeting room. It wasn’t the exact definition of fun but I’m getting paid. There’s really isn’t much room to complain.

My first “real” day is tomorrow. I’m pretty excited. Not to work but to just have a job. I mean, babysitting isn’t the average-joe’s income, you know? Haha.

I’m hoping I learn quickly enough and can do things properly. I don’t want to mess up on my first day.

To anyone else looking to have a job I wish you all the best and think it’s an important thing to do when you can. Since I’m still a teenager I think it will help me even more. I’m building myself up so that I can become the person I’m meant to be when I’m older. Years from now the experiences I have now will reflect on me. It’s all a lot bigger than you think it is. :]
