I want to just take a month and go. Stay where I want, see what I want, not worry about what I can afford. No credit cards, either! Debit card the whole way so I don’t have a debt hangover when I get home.

I’ve taken “cheap” trips where you scrimp here and do a stupid splurge there and sleep in the car because the motel money is gone and you’ll be home tomorrow anyway. I hate those trips. Better to take the tax refund for vacation money instead of paying the car insurance all at once! Car insurance payments will always be with us, but a trip to Alaska is the memory of a lifetime! 7 years ago
