perform original music

I always feel like it needs more work, and also that I don’t sing well enough to pull it off solo. Plus, it would be good to write something besides a guitar part; you know, like lyrics. I need to just do it though or else I’ll never get good enough to feel comfortable with it.

I have recently been playing some of my originals for my friends… now I just need to get out and play in public…

i write mostly secular music… and since i go to a christian college, i don’t get many chances to perform all of my music, but i have written 1 christian song and i played/sang it in front of the whole university… it was so scary! don’t get me wrong… i’ve been singing in front of people my whole life. that’s not the scary part.. its the playing guitar part that scares me! with singing, you can improvise… but with the guitar, if you hit the wrong string it is very obvious!! but it’s so good to face your fears… but anyways… i’ve performed that song once at my university and once at my church. i would love to find a place where i can perform more of my other music too :)

I’ve performed covers now, and the band is in the process of writing a few originals. Next step: performing them live.
