If you want to type 100Wpm, practice typing techniques.
Like typing without looking at the keyboard, things like that. An important thing though, KEEP PRACTICING! :) You’re not going to type that fast in like one day :P Well, have fun :)

I used Gabe’s TypOmeter, which you can download for free at:
http://www.informatics.no
I can also use this as a productivity monitor, based on readings from which applications I’ve been using, and keystrokes relative to mouse clicks. COOL!

used same method as last time but had flexibility problems due to having cold fingers
next time I’ll do a speed typing training session I will use a free website for more reliable benchmarking.

method: copying newspaper article, using word counter and timed using stopwatch. includes time spent correcting words afterwards as identified by spell check.
So I’ve got some way to go but I’ll get there as most of my typing mistakes are actually corrected while I’m typing, which probably is less efficient than correcting for typing errors afterwards, but perhaps more reliable.
I currently have a typing speed of 40-50 Words per minute
I do hope I can increase it to 100 WPM with practice …
I’m more productive when I’m typing at my usual speed (104 WPM according to a test that I took during a job interview). It’s worth the practice that it takes. Learn touch typing first, then just practice. You’ll get faster as you go.
I’ve decided I type fast enough for myself and I’ll just improve my accuracy instead, its worth more if you can type correctly
