I think wool is a means of escapism for me. At the moment, I’m too busy with music to do woolcraft. I really love knitting and crocheting, it’s cathartic, but, for now this goal is going on the shelf along with my actual knitting.

It’s a bit tricky actually, my first attempt is a bit uneven. Next time I think I’ll have to cut up the carrier bag a lot thicker. Still, it’s a work-in-progress.

At lunchtime, when I should have been heading back to work I paused at the knitting pattern section of John Lewis. Good lord, knitting patterns have come a long, long way since the 1980s which was the last time I came into frequent contact with knitting patterns through my Mum. There are some really lush clothes to knit out there!
Anyway, I saw a picture of a bag, in one of the books but I’m not going to buy the book because it’s like £10. I reckon I can knit the bag myself without the pattern and then I can spend the £10 on beautiful wool. It has a cable down the centre of it, then you cast off on either side of the cable so that it becomes the fastening of the bag which you pass through a huge buckle. I can’t wait to start making it, it’s going to be beautiful!

I have been rocking the moss stitch! It’s like me and the wool are one!

But now I want to become an expert! My first task is going to be learning how to knit cables. Then how to knit pictures, then I’ve promised my flatmate that I’ll knit him a jumper with a wolf on the front.
