Did some Good Cleaning.....Going to Call This Done for now.... 2 years ago

Over the weekend did some cleaning while getting out Christmas decorations and discovered a cache of Consumer Reports from 1990. Kind of embarassing…...easy decision to recycle these babies.

I still have lots of National Geographics, but going to call this done for now as I’ve disposed of the obvious junk.

one way to get rid of old magazines is not to buy them anymore! 2 years ago

I regret for having subscribed for so many magazines like Time, financial times, science & vie etc. I hardly have the time to read them all, and how to get rid of them is really a big problem. They are so well printed that I feel a big waste to throw them away. But anyway I’ll throw them one day because I can’t take them with me when I move. Nowadays most newspaper and magazines have electronic version, why do we still need traditional paper version? The electronic ones are cheaper and easy to carry (just download and store them in your computer). You can keep them with you for all your life if you like. If you still hesitate to take up the electronic magazines, think of the ecology. Or if you feel reading an eletronic magazine less comfortable than reading a traditional one, it’s time to think of buying a new computer screen.

Looking for a home - old National Geographics 2 years ago

Okay, I don’t even want to think about how many years of national Geographics are in the basement. At least 25 years worth, plus my mom has more. WHY ARE WE KEEPING THEM? WHAY ARE THEY SO HARD TO THROW AWAY?

I’d feel much better if I could find a charitable organization to take them. Our local library has a fund-raising book sale twice a year, to which we have made quite a few donations, but they won’t take National Geographics. (I can certainly understand why, they’d be buried!!)

If someone has a suggestion on where to take these, I’d be grateful to hear it!
