got Hindi? 2 years ago

I just downloaded the Hindi pack from www.byki.com – wish me luck!!

I’m not sure if I should start it while I’m so early in learning Dutch. I think I’ll leave the Hindi alone for awhile; just focus on the Dutch and work to master it.

Then get to Hindi later. I really only want it so I know what’s going on in Bollywood movies!! heh heh heh!!

There we go.

Just changed the goal to better reflect my feelings on this.

I’m can’t wait to get home and practice more Dutch tonight!! FB is getting a copy of Rosetta Stone software, so once he has it, I’ll see if I can borrow it and then start on Arabic. French could always use improvement, but I just don’t need to speak it on a regular basis, despite living in a bilingual city. I’m one of the lucky few who has a job where it’s actually NOT necessary to be able to speak french fluently. Besides, I can understand quite a bit; I’m just not comfortable speaking it.

I’m hoping that visiting Nice will be good for me in that sense. As well as going back to Montreal for courses on a regular basis.

I was thinking about this goal last night as I practiced my Dutch. This was a goal that FB and I had considered. He’s been working on this on his own; we had wanted to learn another language together for business purposes, so that we could do business in other countries effectively. And communicate with each other when speaking English might compromise our business dealings.

But then one day I suggested that we each learn a different language, to spread our collective genius ;^) he disagreed, and we sort of left it at that. I still think I’d like to learn Arabic, it’s such a beautiful language, but I think I’d rather focus on Dutch right now. I know that German would take me farther, and given my history with French, I should probably just focus on it, but screw it. I will learn what I want to learn, and when I want to learn it!!

HUZZAH!!!
