    M And life goes on

    I'm thinkin 6 months ago

about writing a letter and making a picture for my parents and mailing it too them. I thought it might be a cute surprise. We did it in sixth grade and I thought they kind of liked it.

Writing cards and thank you notes 10 months ago

I am currently in the Sinai. Every time I have been “deployed”, my family, friends and people I don’t even know are tremendous in their support. I love writing hand written cards to show how much I appreciate their support and love. I want to continue doing this the entire year I am here and not get sidetracked with work.

    Postcardx.net 20 months ago

This website is amazing! Both my roommate and I use it, and we get so many post cards, and send a lot as well.

I’ve been sending a lot more letters lately! :) To help keep me motivated, I have pretty pens and I just bought some cute stationary at a Japanese store. It’s the little things that will inspire me to pick up a pen and write! My love of office supplies really helps move that along… :D

P.S.- Oh, and I’ve also been sending postcards! postcardx and sendsomething.net are great, as well! I find postcards to be a dying art, and I hate that! I love getting and giving them!

    postcrossing.com 21 months ago

Postcrossing.com is a wonderful site! You put your address in and you are able to send postcards to users – once they get them and register them, your name is put in the database and someone writes one and sends one to you :)

Just a note 22 months ago

I sent a card to my Aunt last week – my grandfather died the middle of Dec. and she took it real hard. It was her Father-in-law but she really saw him as her dad. Well after the funeral and all that went with it, I decided to send her a card telling her just how much I appreciated her being a part of our family for so many years and how much I cared for her. I think that sending her this in my own handwriting and not in an email was something very special. At least I hope so.

letters to Yellowstone 23 months ago

One of my best friends in the whole world is spending a few months working at Yellowstone National Park. There is obviously no internet or really a phone line, so we’ve been keeping in touch via good ole fashioned pen and paper. He’s keeping this goal afloat just by living in the boonies with the bison (Thanks Jeff!) It’s crazy how easily motivated I am to write to him because there is no other (more technologically advanced) option to fall back on.

Handwritten letters are a lost art… and so damn romantic!

20 items sent 2 years ago

I found Postcardx.net through Amanda D. (a few comments below) and I picked out 20 people to mail a little something to…It was so much fun!! I enjoyed reading all of the quick bio’s and it was fun finding random people. I just couldn’t decide who to mail to, so I picked 20 LOL Now one a week would be reasonable and would continue to be fun. 20 could get kind of expensive, since I mailed several of these folks packages.

This is going to be a fun thing to do.

Putting this on hold for now. 2 years ago

The reason being, I’ve moved to Africa and third world countries don’t have the best mail system. So.
