One appointment at a time. I’ve been using a Sonicare brush for years which really helps, but it’s been two years—-shame on me!
How to get all my dental work done
How I did it: I took it a little at a time, and even took breaks from time to time. I got everything done little by little. It is well worth it to get it all done if you can.
Lessons & tips: Take your time
Do as much as you can at one time.
Take a break if you need to.
Resources: My children and just my own strength was all I needed to get me through

I got my remaining wisdom teeth out. I also got the big initial appt done for the periodontal disease. There is still a question of whether or not I still need the gum surgery. My dentist says it’s looking great and he would never guess I have it if he didn’t know!
to the new dentist again this morning for toothache that I’ve been having now and then over the past months… More RX pictures were taken, and more things were discovered (not 43 fortunately:)
Made another two appointments for a few more repairs etc.

oh my god. i put this off for years (although to be fair half the time it was because i was broke, not just scared ) and now i feel like my mouth is all taken care of. i’m clean, filled, and all caught up.
man. it’s like getting your taxes done. or underarms waxed. it feels so good afterwards.
It was almost 6 years to complete this! I am more than thrilled to be able to mark this off my list… And my teeth are wonderful!
My jaw is still pretty sore but my crowns look beautiful. I have my new retainers also. I am getting so close… I can’t wait to mark this off my list(I think I say that alot!)

has been on my list since I first started using 43things and it feels like a huge accomplishment to mark it DONE! My mouth is happy & healthy (& still quite a bit numb). Yay me!
I have some work to do on both the upper and lower left. I had the right side done last year(thank God.) I am having the lower left done on Thursday and the upper left some time this summer. I had the molds taken for the retainers and needless to say I am so glad to be working on this. I have hated having this looming over my head and I don’t know why I haven’t made it more of a priority. W. is so careless with his teeth that I think that is making me more obsessed with mine.

I can’t wait to mark this as done!
I have an appointment for a cleaning and getting new retainers! I still have to get some fillings replaced and a crown but at least I am back in the game. I was so unhappy with the last dentist I went to and I couldn’t stand my orthodontist so I just avoided the situation for awhile. Now, I am just ready to have it all fixed and maintain.

mmbera asks,
“Hi! I used to be known for a pretty smile. I need dental work now badly. I am the bravest dental patient in the world! Does anyone know any "dental research trials" in So. CA? I'll make those researchers proud, if they would only work on my teeth.”
