I like all the interesting kinds of Tibetan food that I have tried. My favorite is the “cheese” which is as hard as a rock and slightly sweet. Yak jerky is pretty awesome. Butter tea is ok. I love any kind of tsamba I came across. My favorite meal was a breakfast of tsamba and yogurt one morning in Lhasa.

If you like Indian and other types of Asian food you’ll love Tibetan. It’s a mix of all of these with some very unique characteristics all its own.
I can’t gauge its autnenticity but from a pure taste perspective I can heartily recommend House of Tibet Kitchen in Somerville, MA.
There’s a great Tibetan restaurant in Cambridge called Rangzen. They have a yummy lunch buffet that allows you to try all sorts of Tibetan foods. I love the soups and veggies.

I see that there’s a Tibetan/Nepalese restaurant in Pasadena, CA. I want to try it. It will be interesting to see what the influences are… like when my sister and I ate at a Balinese restaurant, and sure enough it tasted like it would come from a country between Thailand and India! Curries, lime juice, etc.
