For christmas last year my boyfriend got me a bunch of acrylic paints and such. I started to paint a lot and then soon fell out of it because of school, work, and life I suppose. Recently I was over at my friend Max’s house and we busted out the paints and we started painting again. Painting makes me feel so at ease. Painting is happily one thing that I am very close to taking off of my 43 things.

How I did it: I started with paint by numbers (the adult one's that you can buy at craft stores), and now I am teaching myself technique. I am definitely not an amazing artist by any means, but I love the peace, and accomplishment that painting gives me. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I really just needed to take the time I needed to do it. I kept making excuses about not having time, or the kids bothering me, or not having the energy to clean up afterward.I let the baby play in the cat food in order to finish. It was well worth it! Read how I did it…

I think this is my calling.
I can’t paint real stuff. Too many lines that my mind can comprehend.
I want to paint the stuff I see in my dreams.
So here we go.
The attached painting is called “Two Hearts Collide”

I painted seven canvasses and have to say that it was fun to get to know acrylic paint. I’ll take it up again some time…

This one turned out completely different than what I had originally planned. Something that annoys me about painting and at the same time proves to be its greatest charm is its unpredictability. Well, at least it’s unpredictable to me. It may have a lot to do with the fact that I lack both experience and skills.

I did a painting over the weekend for my mom’s mother’s day gift. Of course being only my third painting (well second that actually looked like something) it wasn’t the best, but it didn’t turn out too bad _ It was done with a lot of solid colors though, and I’m working on more dimension.
My grandfather was a really good painter. I remember the back room of my grandparents house was full of his paintings. He never sold any as far as I know. And I’m not sure where most of them are today. I should ask around about that actually. It’s been ages since I thought about them.
16beers is getting things done today.
i’ve decided to start painting. i did a couple paintings in art class a year ago. the one that was popular with my friends was a silhouette of a puffin on a piece of wood. i think for now i’ll stick to silhouettes, and i liked painting on wood. my birthday is coming up, so i’ll ask for some supplies then.
Lots of creative energy today! I finally filled up one of my canvasses. I’m so proud of my painting being that it’s my first and all. I’m going to hang it up on my wall soon. It’s still drying right now. I have pictures of it. Some bad quality pictures because of the lighting. I’m soooo glad I finally painted! :D
