I have done some pretty major sailing with my father, but never get to take control of the boat by myself. I wan to farther my sailing education to maybe one day sail the Caribbean again.

I would love to be able to sail. I would love to sail across the Atlantic at some point.
I want to learn how to sail a sail boat.
The image in this picture is of a motorized boat. It doesn’t really fit. ;)
Visited friends in Martha’s Vineyard who have a boat – being on it a few years ago is what got me interested! Had a great time, learned some of the terminology, pulled the halyard and helped put up the mainsail!
Now to sign up for a class before the end of summer!
shortieaileen getting started!
I will probably take a course later on in the summer and in a few years (after I turn pro) I’ll go on a few weeks trip out to the Bahamas/Islands. The end goal is to buy my own boat and take my daddy out for fishing whenever he wants :)
After a rather exciting summer of sailing last summer/fall, it looks like sailing will have to be put on hold as I will not be in Cincinnati this summer, where both the Thistle and the Laser are. Boo. Though I will not have the luxury of going out every weekend, I hope I can make it down for a good sail – or organize a sailing trip at Lake Erie!
My mom gave me sailing lessons for my bday and I just have 3 mo. to schedule them…likely just jam-packed into 2 weekends! Can hardly wait!!! Hopefully it’ll warm-up on the bay soon too!!
I’d love to take one of those “learn to sail” courses so that I’m able to get involved with sailing a yacht, instead of just being a passenger. There are courses in the UK, but for some reason I’m more attracted to the ones in the Canaries, or Croatia, or Thailand… :)
I have always wanted to learn to sail. To be completely comfortable and at one with the vessel I am commanding. I imagine there is nothing like it in all the world. The smells, the wind, the texture of the sails, the spray of the water….I want to do this NOW!!! I drove a friends speedboat once across the lake…I LOVED it completely. Freedom, power, at one with the water. Ahhhhh!!! I was not born into a sailing family (although my mom did try catamaran sailing in her 40’s with a Tom Selleck look a like and loved it), and none of my circle of friends sail. I need to widen my circle!!
it will be exhilerating, i will meet interesting people, i feel free on the sea, one day i could have my own boat
