I have been taking metformin for 2 days now and I feel a world of difference already!! I almost instantly had more energy and felt genuinely happy (imagine that?) for the first time in a while. I had a little bit of tummy troubles, but it was just mild and should go away after a couple of weeks.
I feel so empowered! I can’t wait to see what happens next. I know that this will be a life-long thing that I will have to deal with—but at least I have a direction now. By taking this medication I have a 30% less chance of getting type 2 diabetes. 3 Cheers to that!!!
I am changing this goal to Manage my PCOS. I think I need a reminder until my life habits are working more towards managing the PCOS.

Just waiting for tests to come back. Another apt next week. She did confirm that I have PCOS. What a relief.

I have finally made and apointment to see the endocrinologist. It seems I may have PCOS (http://www.4woman.gov/faq/pcos.htm) which would explain so many of the symptoms that I have experienced since I was a young girl. This also would explain why I have such a hard time, an almost impossibility, of loosing weight. I feel like this is light finally at the end of a long and painful tunnel.

I went!! It was wonderful! It was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I learned SOOO much and even found out some stuff I didn’t expect to hear. I am still waiting on all of the blood results to come back…but I found out that I have damaged nerves around my heart and I am having a heart ultrasound done in 2 weeks. It was quite a shock but I’m excited to actually be getting something done. He was the best doctor I have ever been to. It makes me feel so much better about my issues knowing that there is actually a reason for them.

high testosterone and all of the wonderful side effects that go with it. My primary doctor of course has been no help. We checked for ovarian cysts and that’s about all and he decided that there is no way to know why I have it and that I just need to go on Yaz and I should be fine. I highly doubt that and I also want to know the real cause of my problem. I know the best thing I can do is to see an endocrinologist. Doctors just start to get really expensive along with the tests that they do and all that. I will go as soon as I can.
