How I did it: I actually think there haven't been so few posts in my inbox since the day I started at my current workplace 3 years ago - this feels like such a relief. While I was at it I also tackled my personal e-mail inbox which is now down to 8 messages compared to 856 only two days ago, before I started the EXTREME MAKEOVER.The method: Delete as much as possible, create sub-folder to store what needs to be stored. Try to keep the names of the sub f… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I follow a great system whenever I clear out my inbox. First, I create folders to sort my messages: Friends - I have a friends folder, and I create subfolders for friends who send the most e-mail. Business - I create subfolders under this. I used to create a subfolder for every site like ebay, paypal, etc. But now I just break it down into a few broad categories like so: Utilities (bills and stuff) Online Servi… Read how I did it…

I think it’s time for cleaning out my inbox at work. As of today I have over 3,000 e-mails in my inbox! I hope to be able to go through and delete most of it. When I’m done I will probably go through my personal e-mail inbox as well.

Filters are useful for more than keeping your emails organized. I’ve been using them to separate out emails I don’t care about. Sure I’ve unsubscribed from those email lists but old emails are still hanging around. Elimited hundreds that way.
