This place is totally trashed. The kids’ crap is everywhere. There are papers and clothes all over the place. And we have ants. I can’t get any help here. My kids wallow, they just don’t care. Now the cats are starting to stick to the kitchen floor. We are all busy: my husband, doing his first year of teaching: me, teaching English on several different levels. The kids are in honors and AP classes, plus one plays the violin – lots of lessons and practices and auditions – and the other does tae kwondo – lots of lessons and practices and tournaments. Everybody is performing their chosen whatevers at a high level. And yet we have ANTS.

It’s just more peaceful when there aren’t little piles of things to do sitting on top of everything.

Okay, I knew this was acheivable. It’ll probably be rucurring, too. I need to remember how much more serene I feel when the house is clean. Had friends over last night. They think we live like this all the time.

I wanted to put this in because so many of the goals on this list are going to take a while to acheive. I need to do this today because we have friends coming tonight for dinner and an overnight stay. So more than just the main rooms need to be in order. My husband is in a walking cast, so I don’t want him to stump all over the house, so most of this is up to me this time around. Also have to trim the front lawn.
