I’ve read Quicksilver and The Confusion. Loved them both. Why can’t school history lessons be like these books?????
Kathryn_Wells is enjoying learning about 43things.com! What a great place!
I have started Quicksilver 3 times, and have never gotten past the first chapter!!
But know there are great things in store for me! I have thousands of pages to look forward to! I have already purchased all three books! This will help me get closer to reaching goal #12!
I read The Diamond Age before finals and I think I’m hooked. A friend gave me her copies of all three books, and I’m finally starting summer break. I guess if I’m gonna do it, now’s the time. Though, I’ll admit I’m a little hesitant given the length. I’m sure they’ll be amazing though.
Somewhere in the middle of The Confusion. I love how he ties things together throughout the book. Sometimes subtly, sometimes not. It’s a bit wordy but once you get used to his style you know when you can get away with gleaning over certain parts. For instance… I feel sorry for anyone that read all of Eliza’s letters to Leibiniz ;)
A Well-Read Dog Head is standing right behind you
I’m looking forward to getting to the Half Cock’d Jack parts of the book…

I’m about 140 pages into Quicksilver.
Finished Quicksilver. Loved it.
Have far too many other books to read before I look for the next one.
I’m almost done reading it for the third time. It gets easier with repetition. Makes it easier to gloss over some parts. NS could use a better editor, but at least he’s fun to read!
