I gave up in the sense that I have newer goals to persue, and I plan to loop this goal, along with the history goal, into a verbal communications, story telling, public speaking etc. goal.
Today we went to the dinosaurs exhibit with hubby’s little brother. It was fun to learn new things which did not involve numbers and which did not require regurgitation later.
To me, the highlight of the exhibit was being able to touch a large piece of real dino bone. It was quite amazing to be able to connect to ~200 million years of history with a touch!
Of course, there were lots of casts, eggs, presentation of the feathered fossils and new artist renditions of the dinosaurs (more like chickens with feathers… earth shattering for the generation growing up with Spielberg’ Jurassic park!)
yes, make fun of me. i’ve become a geography whore. two huge maps in my apartment where i’ve marked the places i have been. keeps things in perspective and helps me learn. don’t hate!
