Mitzi mantra: don't forget to have a good time

    Untitled 10 months ago

    1 99 red balloons:

the hit in 83’ the week my father died. it will always take me back to that time. And it took me over 20 years to listen to it- really listen. It’s kinda beautiful in a pop way. it defines who i am.
#2 love lock down: Kanye West:
(I reserve the right to change this choice later) But it defines me now. I am unwilling to love- unless I can love people the way I want to.
#3 Yellow ribbon around the world: Utah Phillips
It defines my perspective on world peace. That we cannot blindly support war because we are preassured into supporting our troops. It makes little rational sense to do so. And I won’t. And I love Utah for saying so.
    #4 …....

Stupid by Sarah McLachan 2 years ago

    Night lift up the shades
let in the brilliant light of morning
    but steady there now
for I am weak and starving for mercy
    sleep has left me alone
to carry the weight of unravelling where we went wrong
it’s all I can do to hang on
    to keep me from falling
    into old familiar shoes

    [Chorus:]

    how stupid could I be
    a simpleton could see
that you’re no good for me
but you’re the only one I see

love has made me a fool
it set me on fire and watched as I floundered
    unable to speak
except to cry out and wait for your answer
but you come around in your time
    speaking of fabulous places
    create an oasis
dries up as soon as you’re gone
    you leave me here burning
    in this desert without you

    [Chorus]

    everything changes
    everything falls apart
can’t stop to feel myself losing control
but deep in my senses I know

    [Chorus]

Her first Mistake -By Lyle Lovett 2 years ago

    Once upon a time ago
Way up in the land of sleet and snow
How this fairy tale would go
    I could not have known

I had searched around this world so mean
    From livingstone to palestine
    Trying to pursue my dream
    Of love

It was then i met this girl so fine
She made me think so fast i left my thought behind
And i tried to pass for a sophisticated
    Northern man

I said why yes my dear i know exactly what you mean
Because there’s not so much i haven’t done or seen
And may i say your eyes are the loveliest
    Shade of jade

    I said come on baby
    Come on baby
    Come on baby

It was then i knew i had made my first mistake
She did not even start to wait
And as she turned around to walk away
This is what she had to say

She told me man i come from way down south
I’ve got a picket fence with a picket house
And i don’t need no fast talking northern man
    Like you around

I said well come on baby
    Come on baby
    Come on baby

Honey i don’t know what you just heard
But alabama is my favorite word
    And birmingham
Is a long way from here

I could see the light began to shine
She turned back around her eyes met mine
And suddenly the whole world became
    A better place

Even if it was only for an instant
Because it was then i knew i had made my
    Second mistake

She told me man that was a real good try
But alabama’s not where i reside
I come from where the river is wide
    And the crawfish hide

I said well come on baby
    Come on baby
    Come on baby

Honey i don’t know what you just heard
But louisiana is my favorite word
    And new orleans
Is a long way from here

She just looked at me and shook her head
Your lines are pretty sad she said
You are a lonely, weak, pathetic man
If this is doing the best you can

It was then i knew i had made my third mistake
Yes three strikes right across the plate
And as i hollered honey please wait
    She was gone

I said well come on baby
    Come on baby
    Come on baby

Honey i don’t know what you just heard
Bartender set ‘em up are my favorite words
    Because the love i need
Is a long way from here

    Oh the love i need
Is a long way from here

Yes well there i sat so all alone
Like a king who sits upon his throne
And whose kingdom may have just gone home
    With another kingdom

So as you can imagine much to my surprise
When the door was flung back open wide
    It was a miracle
    She walked inside
And pulled her chair up next to me

    And that’s when she knew
    She had made her
    First mistake

Honey i don’t know what you just heard
    But come on baby
    Are my favorite words
    And where we’re going
Is a long way from here

    And where we’re going
Is a long way from here

    So like i said before
    I could not have known
How this fairy tale would finally go
Still the only certain thing for sure
Is what i do not know

So like the years and all the seasons pass
And like the sand runs through the hour glass
I just keep on running faster
    Chasing the happily
    I am ever after

I just keep on running faster
    Chasing the happily
    I am ever after

More than it seems by Kutlass 2 years ago

    Is my imagination running away
Or is all this really happening to me
Am I a prince in a far away land filled with fantasy

Where is reality and what are the actions that will define who I am?
I am holding onto the visions I’ve seen of what I could be
    It’s what I should be

    Chorus
More than it seems these dreams inside (show me the way to these dreams)
Blur reality’s line (‘til there’s nothing that’s left of me)
If I could believe the dreams aside (show me the way to these dreams)
I am capable more than it seems

Passing through darkness into my own world
Will I be more than when I left (than when I left)
Never letting go of the lessens I learned
    This will make a change
    A change within me

    Chorus
More than it seems these dreams inside (show me the way to these dreams)
Blur reality’s line (‘til there’s nothing that’s left of me)
If I could believe the dreams aside (show me the way to these dreams)
I am capable more than it seems

This time I won’t run away
I found the strength to face life’s long days
This time I won’t run away

    Chorus
More than it seems these dreams inside (show me the way to these dreams)
Blur reality’s line (‘til there’s nothing that’s left of me)
If I could believe the dreams aside (show me the way to these dreams)
I am capable more than it seems

‘Til there’s nothing left of me
Show me the way to these dreams

Jon McLaughlin - Amelia's missing 2 years ago

    I can’t find Crazy Horse,
    can’t find Hoffa
    and Amelia’s missing
    somewhere out at sea,
    and I hope they’re happy,
    havin’ a party
and Elvis is servin’ them up
    green apple martini’s,

    (bridge)
    I can’t find my watch,
    I can’t find my wallet,
so how in the hell am I supposed to find

    The one that I love,
    the one that I need,
    hidden so high,
    burried so deep

    Well I found odd jobs
    and I found reasons,
    for all kinds of ways
    I can waste my time,
    and I found lovers
    and I found levers
    and I found new ways
    just to tell old lies

    (bridge)
    I can’t find my watch,
    I can’t find my wallet,
so how in the hell am I supposed to find

    (chrous)
    The one that I love,
    the one that I need,
    hidden so high,
    burried so deep,

    Somewhere to run,
    somewhere to go,
and if I ever find her,
    how will I know,
    how will I know

‘cause I can’t find Crazy Horse,
    can’t find Hoffa
    and Amelia’s missing
    somewhere out at sea…

Marty Stewart -Going Nowhere Fast 2 years ago

    Goin’ Nowhere Fast

There’s just too much confusion, to get what’s really going on
The truth is lying out there, and it’s covered up in stone
I get a funny feeling that’s been rolling ‘round in me
I think it’s time to tell you that it’s time for me to leave
It’s been fun, it has been a gas
    But it’s goin’ nowhere fast
Somebody call my number and get me on the phone
Lately I’ve been talking to myself, when I had me all alone
Thinking I should start a fire and burn a bridge back into town
It must be time to go back home
‘Cause I miss having me around
It’s almost real, it could’ve been a blast
    But it’s goin’ nowhere fast

I’m on a roll so I’ll keep rolling
    Gaining ground on my control
While I need someone to lean on, a tender hand to hold
As I scramble cross the beckon call of my own heart’s command
I’ll fade and disappear into a sea of sinking sand
Like a dark horse running from the past
    I’m goin’ nowhere fast
I’m a dark horse running through the past
    I’m goin’ nowhere fast

Caedom's Call - Hands of the Potter 2 years ago

Lord if I’m the clay then I’ve been left out in the sun
Cracked and dry, like mud from the sty
Still clinging to the prodigal sun

But I’m on my way back home
Yes I’m on my way back home

    Into the hands
That made the wine from the water
    Into the hands
    The hands of the Potter

Lord if I’m the clay that let your living water flow
    Soften up my edges Lord
    So everyone will know

That I’m on my way back home
Yes I’m on my way back home

And Lord when you listen for the song of my life
Let it be, let it be, a song so sweet
Let it be, let it be, a song so sweet
Let it be, let it be, a song so sweet, let it be

Lord if I’m the clay then lay me down
    On your spinning wheel
Shape me into something you can fill
    With something real

And I’ll be on my way back home
Yes I’m on my way back home

Phil Joel - Return 2 years ago

It feels like we just started
    It all begins today
    To be a victor
    Not a victim unguarded
    Nothing ‘round here
    Looks quite the same
    Though the scars remain

    CHORUS:
You have been so good to me
    And I will return
You have been so good to me
    And everyday
    I will return

You know we are the targets
    The lions are outside
    You and me they want
    They must be denied
    Still falling those fingers
    Are the grains of sand
    You call it my pride
    Will we flee tonight
Or will I fight by Your side?

I will seek You all of my days
    Everyday I’ll return again
I will rise to seek Your face
    Everyday I will return again

Ben Folds - Still 2 years ago

    I must give the impression
that I have the answers for everything.
    you were so disappointed
to see me unravel so easily.

    It’s only change
    only everything I know
    even the things
that seem still are still changing.

    La da la da …..
    La da la da …

    mother misses her baby
but I only wanted to be me
    She changed address and haircuts
    boyfriends and lightbulbs- its easy

    but its only change,
    only everything i know
even the things that seem still
    are still changing.

    La da la da ….
    La da la da ….

    I stay focused on details
it keeps me from feeling the big things
but watch the microscope long enough
things that seem still are still changing

La da la da la …
La da la da la …

La da la da la …
La da la da la …

Even the things that seem still are still changing
Even the things that seem still are still
Even the things that seem still are still changing
even the things that seem still are still changing

    La da la da …
    La da la da …
